UralChem, Uralkali plan to start exports to Sudan in 2021
MOSCOW, Dec 2 (PRIME) -- Russian fertilizer producers UralChem and Uralkali plan to start exports to Sudan in 2021, UralChem said in a statement on Wednesday following a Tuesday visit of Dmitry Mazepin, chairman of UralChem’s board of directors and deputy chairman of Uralkali’s board of directors, to Sudan’s capital Khartoum.
“We think that Sudan may become the site in the Eastern part of Africa where we could be able to improve our position as fertilizer producers significantly,” Mazepin said as quoted by UralChem.
“On their side, UralChem and Uralkali will contribute to the development of mutually beneficial and friendly relations between Russia and Sudan. We plan to start exports of fertilizers to the country already in 2021.”
The company also said that the main goal of Mazepin’s visit to Sudan was to expand business in Africa. He negotiated the opportunities, approaches, and mechanisms of cooperation that cover exports, tax preferences and relations between the two countries, the company said.
